While going out to the sunroom to retrieve his lego "briefcase", Parker decided to let our dog, Lucky inside. Of course, Lucky was super excited to see his young pal and in the midst of their hyper play they knocked a glass onto the concrete floor. Parker tripped and stepped right onto the base of the broken glass.
I was enjoying an engaging lecture at OU when my phone started going crazy with text messages and missed calls. Devon, is lucky to have a nurse as a wife because bless his heart he does not do well with blood, needles or injuries outside of normal bumps and bruises.
I stepped out of class and called to hear a forced calmness in my frantic husbands voice. Parker cut his foot, it's bad. We are in the car, where do I take him?
I told him to go to the Med Center thinking that was the closest for him and I wasn't really sure how long Devon could drive without passing out. :)
Despite rush hour traffic I made it to the med center in plenty of time to rescue Devon from witnessing the painful suturing experience.
Parker did great and of course was charming to all the staff and was even quick to tell the doctor how he should proceed. He got six stitches to the bottom of his foot and has to stay off his foot for 24 hours. Thank goodness the first 12 he has been exhausted and sleeping.
So I'm sad Parker had to have a painful evening but relieved his "turn" was resolved with a quick trip to urgent care and a handful
Of stitches.
I hope this was a one time thing and not a recurring cycle. If not, it's devon's turn with the bubble wrap. :)
