Today Devon and I have beat US statistical odds. We are celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary.
I can't say that it has been an easy ten years but in retrospect our difficulties have strengthened our marital bonds. Having children, loosing our parents, moving from city to city, living paycheck to paycheck partially compose the repertoire of our marriage. I suppose that some of these issues are what chip at the statistics of marital survival. Even though the road has been rough at times, I'm relieved that we never threw in the towel, all be it there were times it was a fleeting thought.
Last night Devon and I celebrated our tenth anniversary with a nice steak dinner at Lone Star. More than the quiet night without children and the delicious meal we savored, I so much enjoyed just sitting with my husband and having conversation about our day to day lives. It's easy to loose touch in the busy ins and outs of our days. How refreshing to still be able to sit down and catch up so quickly.
There will be no fancy trip to Hawaii or big diamond jewelry or gold watches cashed in for our anniversary. I won't lie, we wouldn't expect it, but still we wish we had a bigger token of remembrance for our ten years together. However I will gladly exchange any pricey gift for what we have, mutual love, compassion and fondness for one another.
I love you babe. Ten years of our commitment have paid off. I pray that we will live a long and happy life together! I'm looking forward to it!!!

To know that we can create such a love that we do not need those fancy things to enjoy and reflect on our memories we have together. Because I know that our love is through the love of our Lord and Saviour. Sometimes I ask God "Why me? Why am I so lucky to have someone as Beautiful and wonderful as Meredreth to be my soulmate?" So I have stopped asking why b/c I would hate for God to ask "Yes, why did I choose him to be so lucky?" :) There is so much too say, but I will just finish it with this, "Your ALL RIGHT! (I LOVE YOU!)"
awww, you guys are just tooooo cute. Happy anniversary..and don't think you can miss the games just because it's your anniversary!! Just kidding. Hope it's great and that you'll have 80 more.

Happy Anniversary! Well done. Thank you for being incredible examples to those around you. Thank you for being real, honest and tons of fun. Can't wait to see what the next ten years has instore. Celebrate what the Lord has done.
What an amazing couple; you two crazy kids. Born just one year after the great tornado.
Still it left me out of breath to see Devon's love for his bride as he defended my honor when the pitcher of the other team along with the catcher and first baseman tried to block my reaching the base safely. What a guy and what a gal. God bless always.
You two are full of it! I know the truth! Just joking. I guess it was a good thing that we bought that battery for D so he continue to traveling to see our beautiful daughter. Love you guys and I am proud of you and Eugene and Jackie would share the same sentiment. The best part is the 2 beautiful and wonderful grandchildren you have given me through this union.
