It's certainly captured every one's attention. The swine flu, that is. I've had questions at church, concerns from friends, and dispensed precautions to clients. Just like our annual flu season, swine flu is nothing to panic about, however, does require an extra level of awareness and self protection.
Although 100 people have died in Mexico from the Swine Flu, 10,000 people die every year in the US from the traditional flu. Hope that gives you some perspective on the numbers.
There are no vaccines for the swine flu. Some believe that your season flu vaccine may provide a bit of resistance but there is no for certain information regarding this. Primarily follow the precautions we promote during flu season. Wash your hands frequently. Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Stay home if you are sick.
