A wonderful day...

Sorry it's been such a long time since I posted. I'm back in the swing and what a wonderful story I have to tell today!

Saturday, January 10th, 5:20 PM

Parker And I in the car going to see my Grandma in Enid

Parker: Mom will Grandma be in Heaven when she is 100? (side note-Grandma is 90)

Me: It depends. You have to die to go to heaven.

Parker: Mom, not everyone goes to heaven.

Me: That's true. Where else do they go?

Parker: Where sin is.

Me: Do you know what sin is?

Parker: Breaking the rules.

Me: True. So how do you get to go to heaven?

Parker: You have to ask Jesus into your heart.

Me: That's right

Parker: Mom, I want do that. I want to ask Jesus into my heart.

Me: OK. Are you sure?

Parker: Yes.

Me: You have to pray and tell God what you told me. You have to ask God to forgive you and come into your heart.

Parker: OK. (in the car, Parker bows his head, clasps his hands and speaks with intention)
Dear God, I'm sorry I break the rules. Please forgive me. Please come into my heart. Amen.

Me: *tear, tear*

Parker: I want to tell daddy.

Me: OK

Parker: and Ms. Juelye (our children's minister)

Me: OK

Parker: Mom...

Me: Yes...

Parker: There will be toys in heaven, right?

Me: Yes, baby, the best toys in the world!

Parker proudly told our congregation Sunday morning that he asked Jesus into his heart. I was hesitant for a six year old to make such a big decision, but Jesus tells us to come with the heart of a child, and that is exactly what Parker did.

The great evangelist, TL Osborn, was among our congregation Sunday. He came up to Parker, grabbed his hand, and said, "Son, I was exactly your age when I accepted Christ. God has great plans for you!"

What an amazing day! Parker is anxiously awaiting his baptism. We are ecstatic that both of our children have accepted Christ. We pray that God will equip and enable us to lead them to grow and deepen their faith!

3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the Truth.

Thanks Karen, Allison & Jeana!

We are very, very excited. Karen, did you hear Larry Jones say Sunday he accepted Christ when he was five years old!

I believe God has big things in store for Parker!

Of course, this week he's been hell on wheels! We've talked a lot more about his "sin". :)
