We missed the diagnosis on Devon's foot. Tuesday his toe wasn't getting any better. After two trips to the doctor .... too long a story for this one handed typist ..... he was diagnosed with gout. His entire foot was huge , you could almost see it throbbing. He couldn't even wear his flip flops. He was in some pretty terrible pain.
Needless to say he's been loaded with Lortab and couldn't take me to my surgery. We had to call on some friends to get us through. Boy are we lucky to have such great friends!
All of this led to Devon being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I'm on a mission for the family. We are establishing stricter rules on our diet and exercise regimen.
I must say we have been quite the invalids the past few days. We've really had to depend on one another as one of us is the hands and one of us is the feet! Hopefully, next week will find us in much better shape!
Thanks to all our friends who have stepped in and helped us out with meals, keeping the kids, and driving us around.
God Bless!
