Sometimes, God Doesn't Care

Rachel Selby at the Share Service:
I told God that I'm going to be really busy next summer and I'll be going to college and I won't be able to go on the mission trip. And God told me "I don't care."

Sweet Ray's testimony created a chuckle in Sunday night's share service. I had a similar experience as I approached God last week. He's been putting on Devon and my heart to start up a new small group for the young married and soon to be married's in our church. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't excited about it at all! I love teaching teenagers and to be quite self righteous about the whole thing, was quite certain that no one could replace me. You know what God said - I don't care.

Now we all know that God does care, but really what we are saying is that God doesn't care what our plans are. He has greater plans for us and when he puts those on our hearts, we don't really have a choice but to be faithful to Him.

Jeremiah 29
10 This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
